Cheltenham Jazz Festival
Montpellier Gardens
We had a very enjoyable street stall which we planned to coincide with the Cheltenham Jazz Festival so that we could promote the European Movement Face the Music campaign.
The campaign highlights the difficulties musicians and music support industries are facing having left the EU. It is much more difficult for musicians to tour in Europe, travel with musical instruments and equipment, and to sell merchandise.
We handed out copies of the New European along with European Movement leaflets outlining current difficulties experienced by the UK music industry. We had our usual ‘opinionometer’ which encouraged passers by to let us know how they thought Brexit was going (not well……..)
The music industry is a major contributor to the UK economy and a major employer. Along with other creative industries, music is a huge cultural asset and deserves to be protected, encouraged and treated with respect.
The EM campaign is asking the government to Face the Music and find solutions to the problems facing musicians and the music support industries to help them tour in Europe.

If you are a musician or have links with anyone in the music industry please get in touch. We have posters that need to be displayed and more leaflets that need to be handed out.
