Successful Day at the Gloucestershire University Freshers’ Fair

On Wednesday 20 September Cheltenham for Europe had a stand at the freshers’ fair. If you’re clutching an armload of goodies from other stands, it must be tempting to simply move on, but we were delighted at the high level of passionate engagement from first-year students. The Brexitometer – as always – proved a draw, prompting many students to give vent to their feelings of frustration and betrayal. They were too young to vote in the Referendum, of course, but it is their generation that will bear the brunt of Brexit – not least because of restrictions on freedom of movement. We were particularly pleased that a number of students volunteered to help set up a European Affairs society at the University.

A very big thank you to the volunteers on the day – Philip, Angie, Neil, Martin, Anne and Flo.
